The objective of this scheme is to reduce the energy intensity of agricultural sector by carrying out the following activities:

a) Demonstration project on “Internet of Things (IoT) and sensor based Climate Smart Agriculture Initiatives”:

TNSDA had initiated action to adopt (Internet of Things) IoT technology in 100 nos. agricultural farms (paddy field) and 1 no. demonstration projects in sugar cane fields in Tiruvallur District as per BEE’s guidelines with BEE funds.

b) Energy Conservation awareness to farmers:

41 nos. awareness programmes on Energy Conservation and Energy Efficient appliances (Star rated pumpsets) were conducted for 2449 nos. farmers across the state through 37 nos. EDCs funded by BEE.
