Energy Clubs in Govt. Schools and Colleges:-
The main objective of establishment of Energy Clubs in schools and colleges is to disseminate awareness amongst school children thereby encouraging participation of young ambassadors in energy efficiency movement.
1583 nos. of Energy Clubs have been established in Government High and Higher Secondary Schools and enrolled about 61,877 students across the state as on 31.03.2024.
Training for Energy Club Co-ordinators (Teachers) were given for the following :
“How to form Energy Club and details of activities to be carried out by the Energy Clubs”.
Enrolling the students in Energy Club.
Creating awareness among students on Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency.
Conducting competitions in view of EC Day / Week celebrations in the month of December every year.
The major role of the Energy Clubs shall be conducting of the following activities on Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency:-
Addressing the Chief Educational Officer, District concerned to nominate schools and Energy Club Coordinator for each school.
Organizing debates
Quiz programs
Elocution
Drama
Painting competition
Slogan competition
Essay writing
Demonstration activities
The funds for the establishment of Energy Clubs in schools is provided by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) :-
Among the 1633 nos. Energy Clubs, 850 nos. Energy Clubs across the state conducted competitions on “Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency” based on which about 7650 nos. prizes and 7650 nos. certificates were distributed to the prize winners in the prize distribution function held at each District headquarters in December 2024 and January 2025 on account of EC day/week celebrations in schools.
